The line of fragrances is inspired by 5 destinations that are part of the brand's history: Paris, Venice, Milies, Kyoto, and Byblos.

This year marks the 60th anniversary of the French fragrance house Diptyque. To celebrate the occasion, Diptyque launches a travel-themed line of perfumes and home fragrances. Named Le Grand Tour, the limited-edition release transports the users to destinations that served as an inspiration to the brand&ndash;places that serve as integral parts of the brand&rsquo;s story. These places are Paris, Venice, Milies, Kyoto, and Byblos, and Diptyque explores them through scent.&nbsp;

For the French perfumery, it all begins in Paris, the place where Diptyque&rsquo;s first store opened in 1961. They pay tribute to their Parisian roots by dedicating a candle to the city. A walk along the Seine, and the things seen along the way, inspires the fragrance&ndash;scents of wood from antique stores, cobblestones on the streets, and pages of old books.

The tour continues to Venice, a city that Diptyque&rsquo;s trio of founders frequented. To pay homage to the floating city, the perfumery created a travel-sized set of three perfume bottles in a carrying pouch. The perfumes take after the vegetable gardens of Serenissima Lagoon; specifically, it carries the scent of bell peppers, tomatoes, and basil.&nbsp;

For holidays, the founders of Diptyque vacationed near the seaside of Milies, Greece. In a blue and white ceramic oval, captured are the memories of roads to the sea as well as fields of fig and cypress. Le Grand Tour moves to Asia by bringing its audience to Kyoto. Although the founders of the perfumery never visited the Japanese city, its aesthetic, art, and history always served as a source of inspiration. Through a light fragrance, Diptyque captures ikebana&ndash;a Japanese floral art form&ndash;by balancing notes of incense, rose, and vetiver.&nbsp;

Kyoto Eau De Toilette Aand Furoshiki Wrap

The trip comes to an end in Byblos&ndash;a coastal city in Lebanon that houses one of the world&rsquo;s oldest ports. In the city's Old Souk, little cafes fill the alleys. Most serve cardamom coffee, a rich drink traditionally served in Ottoman souks. The fragrance of the candle takes after the coffee's scent, and the smoke emitted by the hot beverage inspired the container, which is crafted using grey marbled-clay.
