British Activewear Brand Sweaty Betty Opens its First Store in Singapore
Founded in London in 1998, activewear brand Sweaty Betty makes its debut in Singapore with their new 1,150 square-foot store at ION Orchard. What makes the brand unique is its all-female design team. Translation? They know just what women want — and need — out of their athleisure.
The brand brings with it their entire range of multi-sport activewear, as well as a selection of their lifestyle pieces. You'll have the usual range of stylish sports tops and leggings for a variety of activities — including yoga, swimming and cycling — along with a selection of sharp office-to-gym pieces like dresses and jumpsuits.
Fans of the brand are particularly fond of their 'bum-sculpting' leggings. Of the Power Sculpt Workout Leggings — one of their bestsellers — one woman wrote: "They were very flattering thanks to the supportive yet stretchy construction (and) a backside-enhancing seam."
Beyond just aesthetics, women say they appreciate how well they hold up during high-intensity workouts: "They fit well and are more compressive in my knees and calves, where I need it," wrote one user on Reddit.
Though the brand doesn't have a dedicated online store for Singapore, you can place and order on their international site — if you'd prefer not to head out — which offers free express shipping to Singapore with no minimum spend.
Sweaty Betty also has plans to offer free in-store community classes that are suitable for women of all levels and abilities — something their other global outlets also provide.
"Fitness now represents more than simply exercise," said CEO Julia Straus. "It's a lifestyle for so many women around the world."
