What was the most valuable lesson you learned this year, whether in fitness, style, or life in general?
I think having confidence goes a pretty long way, as someone who has had anxiety for most of my life. Also, I’m an introvert. I feel like if I just let [being an introvert] and my anxiety control my life, then I wouldn’t go far or be where I am today. So, I think having that confidence and can-do attitude can make a difference in the path of your life and the opportunities that come along the way.
Was there a moment in 2024 that truly shaped who you are today? How did it influence your goals or mindset?
Winning Mister Global 2024 changed my life. It has turned on this motivation and new version of me – a much better version of me, I must say. I think winning this pageant has made me want to work much harder for my goals and dreams. It was initially just a dream for me to win Mister Global because I’ve been dreaming about it for four years now. So, winning this international title has changed the path of my career by opening up a lot more opportunities.
Looking back, what is one achievement that you’re particularly proud of this year?
For now, I guess I’m in a part of my life where I’m not there yet, so I feel like I’m doing everything I can to get there. I really want to get better and go further in my career.
As we step into 2025, what’s one personal or professional goal you’re excited to take on?
I want to be in a movie; a leading role if possible. It could be any romantic comedy, action film, or anything, really. I want to be an actor, especially an action star. I want to be either the Keanu Reeves or Ryan Reynolds of the Philippines. So, tapping into action and more comedy is my goal. I can see Coco Martin doing well and I just want to add more to that.
How do you stay motivated to balance fitness and festivities during the holidays?
I’d say it’s more of discipline because obviously, you can’t avoid eating rice, especially here in the Philippines. So, after all that eating and feasting, hit the gym and watch your diet in the next couple of days. If you work out the next day and eat for two weeks straight without working out, then your progress in diet and fitness will be ruined. So, I think it’s important to have good discipline and keep working on yourself. Don’t forget your goal and the dream body you want to have.
