In the midst of the Tokyo Marathon, Asics came out not only as a symbol of endurance and sportsmanship but also as a pioneer of innovation in athletic footwear. The brand unveiled the Metaspeed Sky Paris and the Metaspeed Edge Paris&mdash;the latest gems in the world of running shoes.
The Metaspeed, first launched in 2021, introduced two distinct shoes tailored to different running styles: stride and cadence. Stride, characterized by elongated steps and increased speed, is complemented by the Metaspeed Sky Paris, while cadence, emphasizing shorter, quicker steps, finds its match in the Metaspeed Edge Paris.

The new kicks have shed some serious weight&mdash;about 22 grams, to be exact. &ldquo;We&rsquo;ve updated almost all materials for lighter weight, higher bounce, and improved stability,&rdquo; said Kenta Tateno, head of Asics Corporation performance running development team. &ldquo;Athletes&rsquo; feedback on this has been very positive and they have confidence that it&rsquo;s the best shoe for marathons.&rdquo;
The Tokyo Marathon offered a unique opportunity for Asics' influencers and runners to gain insights into the craftsmanship behind these shoes. A guided tour of the ISS facility provided firsthand exposure to the advanced technologies and biomechanical analysis used to tailor shoes to individual running styles.
