Welcome to our last issue of the year. Wrapping up 2022 before we turn two years old in March 2023 is already a milestone for us &mdash; from kicking off the first edition in the most difficult and economically crippled time to constantly putting cover subjects that are new and unpredictable for a local publication.
From our special edition with BTS in January to the originally produced story with ENHYPEN for our first anniversary issue, L&rsquo;Officiel Philippines has set the bar high by bringing in some of the biggest pop culture stars and providing stories that circulate in multiple L&rsquo;Officiel titles. This experience has been a personal high for me &mdash; not only because of having the privilege of meeting visionary artists, but having the satisfaction of working alongside inspired individuals. We are ending the year on multiple highs. Members of the biggest K-pop groups, Kai of EXO and CL of 2NE1 headline our cover stories.

I styled Kai for a shoot with L&rsquo;Optimum (a sister publication to L&rsquo;Officiel) in 2017 where he first wore Gucci on a cover. In 2019, Kai becomes the first Korean global brand ambassador of Gucci. While my knowledge is limited on the inner workings of getting a brand deal, I&rsquo;d like to think that my work has contributed to the process, and I&rsquo;m happy to have my personal stamp on such achievement. After five years since I last saw Kai, we meet again in another shoot, now for a Gucci-exclusive story for L&rsquo;Officiel Philippines. To describe Kai as impressive is an understatement. The artist and fashion icon charts his path and has inspired many fans and subsequent K-pop acts.&nbsp;
 Consequently, this issue also highlights CL who has cemented her reputation as a global fashion icon whose approach to style exudes fearlessness and independence. In an interview with CL during the Cartier&rsquo;s Into the Wild exhibition in Singapore a few months ago, I happen to meet the artist and found a surprisingly very warm personality for someone labeled as a &ldquo;queen."&nbsp;

Without a doubt, the Philippines has raised icons to a global scale. Perhaps someday, more of the country&rsquo;s talents will achieve world-renowned success. Among the list of our icons is Dolly de Leon. As of writing, the veteran actress may bring home a possible nomination at the Golden Globes and Oscars for her role in the film Triangle of Sadness by Swedish filmmaker Ruben &Ouml;stlund. The film has already won the Cannes Film Festival&rsquo;s Palme d&rsquo;Or and wherever the actress&rsquo; path may lead her, her success is well-deserved. During her shoot, I watch her effortlessly transform in front of the camera as she showcases facial expressions that shift from surprise to bliss.&nbsp;
 It won&rsquo;t be hard for any of us to stay inspired by the trends this holiday season with the dramatic runway looks that scream &ldquo;more is more&rdquo; &mdash; from oversized silhouettes and furry texture to iconic statement bags that accentuate every look. As the holidays set in, we put a spotlight on the best offers from beauty products to holiday scents.&nbsp;
