Every Look From Coach Fall/Winter 2022

Coach is bringing back the days of disco and Americana with its newest collection.

For the Fall/Winter 2022 collection, Coach brought the audience back to 70s suburbia. Set in a dark, yellow-toned cul-de-sac, there was a young girl chatting on the phone, a woman walking her dog outside, and a group of boys sitting on their bikes outside of a house. It was a scene straight out of That 70's Show and prepared the audience for the influence of the latest collection.

Out of the black comes a spotlight as models began their walk. Opening the show was a model dressed in an extremely oversized fur-lined coat. The coat is paired with burgundy trousers, a black leather dad hat, black booties with industrial detailing, and a dog collar choker with a whistle attached to the middle. This flashback in time is seen throughout the entire collection, and it finds ways to combine punk elements into the aesthetic.

Coach played into their 70s theme by playing into the housewife and mod way of dressing. School girl dresses with neon floral patterns and white collars were paired with matching heels and neon block-shaped sunglasses. The collared detailing and daintiness of these dresses were combatted by the aforementioned dog chain, adding a hint of edginess to an otherwise innocent way of dress.

Along with florals, leather played a huge role in the textile presentation of the collection. Leather vests were paired with leather trousers, bringing a hint of cool and modern western wear to the runway. Leather hats and boots were key accessories to each of the outfits, enhancing the edginess that Coach was trying to combine into their suburban dreamland.

The overall color palette of the collection fit a fall theme. Hues of brown, orange, and yellow were the staple colors, while pinks, greens, pinks, and purples served as accents to add a bit of pop. Coach featured their iconic monogram logo on a series of dad hats, but the star of the monogram show was the Ugg boots. Printed on a beige boot, the monogram was understated but still noticeable.

Although there was no shortage of fur-lined coats, the collection gave off an oddly summery vibe. Whether it was the short dresses and elongated bottoms or sleeveless leather vests, there was a certain vibrance that did not quite fit into the typical Fall/Winter look. Despite the seasonal confusion, the Coach collection remained firm in offering a peek into the fashion of decades past. If you're looking to get your rollerskates out and ride around the neighborhood or jam out to "Stayin Alive" in your station wagon, Coach's Fall/Winter 2022 collection has the pieces to fuel your disco dreams.
