The retrospective exhibition lands in Japan after successful shows in Paris, Doha, and New York.

If you&rsquo;re travelling to Japan this December, take a day to visit a special exhibition that combines fashion, culture, and history. A legacy brand with over 75 years of symbolic forms, the house of Dior presents its retrospective show 'Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams' in Japan&rsquo;s capital. 
Tokyo is the fourth Asian leg of the show&rsquo;s journey across the globe. Previously shown in the historic Victoria &amp; Albert Museum in London, the Long Museum West Bund in Shanghai, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chengdu, the Brooklyn Museum in New York and the M7 in Doha, the show has been received by audiences worldwide who get to take a deep dive into the brand&rsquo;s narrative history.

The Tokyo show has been reinvented by curator Florence M&uuml;ller, with a new narrative that flows between Paris and Tokyo as designed by Shohei Shigematsu. The architect previously worked on the 'Dior: From Paris to the World' project, now bringing a refreshed sensibility to the Designer of Dreams programme that centres and pays special tribute to Japanese culture. Monsieur Christian Dior himself had long been fascinated by the rich creative energy from Japan, which is explored in tandem with his iconic emblems of the Maison, including his love for gardens and flowers.
The growth and development of Dior as a leading Haute Couture house are reflected through Designer of Dreams. Deepening the significance of iconic Dior pieces such as the Lady Dior bag and the J&rsquo;adore perfume, the show offers visitors a look into the house&rsquo;s innovative processes and continuous inventiveness. Also on display are some works from photographer Yuriko Takagi, who has captured photographs specially for this exhibition.
'Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams' is on display at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo from 21 December 2022 to 28 May 2023.
