Cartier Presents: Nature Sauvage the New High Jewelery Collection in Vienna
Nature Sauvage, the Maison's new High Jewelery collection, is a theater of apparitions on which precious animals parade on stage. A hymn to the wildest nature: a true "bestiary" of gems, with artisan workmanship and high-end materials.
Mystery, games and surprising encounters: a new aspect of Cartier's "bestiary". The new Cartier High Jewelery collection entitled Nature Sauvage was staged in Vienna in a theatrical atmosphere, in which animals are the protagonists. We start with the panther, the iconic panthère of the maison and then discover a world of playful creatures, which become sculpture objects thanks to the use of stones and artisanal savoire-faire at the highest levels.
The animals express all their character and personality in 3D shapes, which emerge from the confines of simple jewels. A snow leopard strides with padded paws on an ice floe of diamonds and rock crystals; a flamingo frolics among emerald reeds emerging from an aquamarine river. Some animals camouflage themselves in imaginary environments. An enigmatic beetle merges with the silhouette of a skyscraper; a turtle hides in the center of a necklace and escapes into a brooch; the scales of a crocodile blend with an architecture of diamonds. Sometimes it even becomes difficult to distinguish the animal from its environment, as if together they make up a shiny new hybrid.
The Main Creations:
CELESTUN necklace: A recurring species in Cartier's faunal universe, the pink flamingo is the object of creations that are both poetic and joyful, in this case it has a beak in black lacquer and rose gold. Emeralds evoke rushes and aquamarines recall the aquatic environment. An iconic palette that culminates around an imposing 38.50-carat aquamarine.
PANTHÈRE JAILLISSANTE bracelet-ring Tame the panther until it plays on the hand, in the form of a hybrid jewel with magnetic elegance: this bracelet-ring is covered in diamonds with spots of sapphires and emerald eyes, between the paws a Zambian emerald 8.63 carats.
AMPHISTA necklace: Two reptiles snake around the neck. The scales are made of diamonds and dotted with emeralds, while the heads are crowned with kite-shaped diamonds. In their union of bodies, nine octagonal Colombian emeralds weighing 14.72 carats stand out. A hybrid composition in which the organic merges with the urban through a play of motifs with impeccable geometry.
MOCHELYS necklace: A necklace that appears as a sinuous line with naturalistic echoes and which hides, under an imposing 71.90-carat rubellite, a turtle. At the same time, the camouflage effect reveals an ingenious modularity: the animal appears in its entirety, head and legs included, when it is detached to transform into a brooch.
KOAGA earrings and necklace set. A stylized zebra delicately adorns the ear and décolleté. From the mouth of the zebra, an animal dear to Cartier, hangs an emerald-cut diamond and a 6.25-carat pear-shaped rubellite. Its mantle gives rise to a play of graphic alternations between stripes of onyx, fretwork and pavé lines of brilliant-cut diamonds and emeralds.
