BTS’ Jung Kook Displays a Distinct Maturity on L’Officiel Philippines’ January 2022 Cover
The group’s infinitely gifted youngest member has grown to balance the influence of both criticism and praise.
“We did our best with every album and on every stage. Nobody can be perfect, but I’ve been able to enjoy it because I do everything that’s required of me. That’s why I can accept an occasional poor result,” BTS’ infinitely talented youngest member Jung Kook says amiably in his L’Officiel Philippines cover story. “I understand that hard work and the outcome are two separate things. I’ve learned how to accept the result. Of course, having the ambition to improve myself is another matter.”
This mindset, accepting of criticism without being complacent, is one of the key pillars behind the group’s massive success. It’s an admirable sportsmanship attitude, reflected also in Jung Kook’s outfits for the story’s accompanying photoshoot: among the looks, a lemon yellow tracksuit piped with Damier racing checks from Louis Vuitton’s Spring/Summer 2022 menswear collection stood out.
Many of the designers in Paris and Milan centered the season's collections around branded spins on classic sports jackets—at Louis Vuitton, Dior, and Moschino, slim-cut iterations came emblazoned with characters representative of each maison. Burberry’s angular leather varsity vests were a sharp take, while Dolce & Gabbana smattered their versions with bright, whimsical prints.
