BTS’ Jin Blends Work and Play on L’Officiel Philippines’ January 2022 Cover
Jin’s philosophy of fun makes for a fascinating contrast in life and style.
“My main role is as a singer, but the boundaries of my work are blurry…Of course, I take my work very seriously. However, until the boundaries of my work become clear, I can’t specifically tell you when I’m being serious. Except when I’m on stage, 80 to 90% of my time is spent joking around,” BTS’ perpetually jovial eldest member Jin reveals in his L’Officiel Philippines interview. “I think having fun is one of the things that makes it possible for me to work without burning out.”
That very check and balance is what keeps life as the world’s biggest boy band not only interesting, but also manageable. The same can be said about style — for the cover shoot, Jin donned a mix of pieces from Louis Vuitton’s Spring/Summer 2022 menswear collection. There was a long, puffy, bright blue sleeping bag parka, a green racing-check coat over fire engine-red track pants, a sleek, classic suit and tie combo…needless to say, the polarizing outfits only framed the real highlight: his striking good looks.
Trend-wise, color-bleed rainbow hues were scene-stealers on the runways of Louis Vuitton, Fendi, and Casablanca; meanwhile, candied ombré pinks and oranges tinted must-have knits at Hermes and Etro.
