The White Lotus&nbsp;is (almost) back!
The Emmy-winning satire released a teaser on Monday, and Season 3 is fast approaching. It'll be set in Thailand, keeping up the theme where each season gets its own resort destination for a setting.&nbsp;Since&nbsp;The White Lotus' inception, it's wooed our attention with stellar casting and absurd plot lines. It only makes sense that the show revealed a buzzy new member on set: Blackpink's own Lisa stars in Season 3.&nbsp;Natasha Rothwell, who was in Season 1, is making a return to the screen alongside a swath of newcomers.
The show first debuted in July of 2021 and amassed popularity then, mid-pandemic. Since then,&nbsp;The White Lotus&nbsp;has received a variety of awards, including the&nbsp;AACTA International Award for Best Comedy Series, the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress (Jennifer Coolidge), and the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Casting, to name a few.&nbsp;In an interview&nbsp;<a href="https://variety.com/2022/tv/news/white-lotus-renewed-season-3-hbo-1235436872/">with&nbsp;Variety</a>, Executive Vice President of HBO Programming Francesca Orsi reflected on her pride for the show.
&ldquo;Reflecting on&nbsp;The White Lotus' humble, run-and-gun origin as a contained pandemic production, it&rsquo;s impossible not to be awestruck by how&nbsp;[the show's creator Mike White]&nbsp;orchestrated one of the buzziest and most critically acclaimed shows... we couldn&rsquo;t be more thrilled to get the chance to collaborate on a third season together," Orsi said. White reportedly already&nbsp;<a href="https://deadline.com/2024/11/mike-white-the-white-lotus-season-4-hbo-1236174131/">pitched Season 4</a>&nbsp;to HBO, which has yet to confirm a decision.

As we know by now, each new season of&nbsp;The White Lotus starts fresh in a brand new paradise, with an (almost) brand new cast.&nbsp;
Previous cast members from Season 1, like <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/alexandra-daddario-actress-the-white-lotus-hbo-interview" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Alexandra Daddario</a>, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/sydney-sweeney-starring-spider-man-spinoff-madame-web-euphoria-dakota-johnson" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Sydney Sweeney</a>, and Jake Lacy, have voiced their interest in returning for another season. On April 19, it was announced that a familiar face will definitely be returning: Natasha Rothwell. Although she took a break from her role as Belinda for Season 2, she's back for the Thailand excursion.
Some brand-new cast members were also just officially announced. According to&nbsp;<a href="https://variety.com/2023/tv/news/white-lotus-season-3-location-thailand-1235565604/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Variety</a>, the new season will take place in Thailand. Since the first two seasons were shot at Four Seasons Hotels, and this holds true for Season 3. Filming is taking place at the Four Seasons Resort&nbsp;<a href="https://www.travelandleisure.com/four-seasons-resort-koh-samui-review-8727202">Koh Samui</a>, which promises to offer lush scenery of the island's nearby beaches. There was also filming in Phuket and in Bangkok.

The White Lotus' satirical approach to wealth and erratic behavior makes it an excellent and gripping&nbsp;<a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/2021-emmy-awards-nominated-shows-to-binge-watch-ted-lasso-bridgerton" target="_blank" rel="noopener">binge-watch</a>. During the behind-the-scenes segment after the final episode of Season 2, White revealed what could be in store for the third season.
"The first season kind of highlighted money, and then the second season is sex," he said. "And I think the third season, it would be maybe a satirical and funny look at death and eastern religion and spirituality.&rdquo;
In a 2023 interview with&nbsp;<a href="https://ew.com/tv/the-white-lotus-creator-mike-white-teases-supersized-season-3/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Entertainment Weekly</a>, White told viewers to expect something big.&nbsp;"It's going to be longer, bigger, crazier. I don't know what people will think, but I am super excited, so at least for my own barometer, that's a good thing," he said. The&nbsp;show's new cast member, Leslie Bibb, described her upcoming character as "complicated, strange, funny, scared, and complex" in a recent interview with&nbsp;<a href="https://www.etonline.com/media/videos/leslie-bibb-on-her-strange-and-complicated-the-white-lotus-season-3-character" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Entertainment Tonight</a>. Season 3's detailed plot remains a mystery, but with these descriptions we're sure to be entertained.

The White Lotus Season 3 Release Date

While the release date of&nbsp;The White Lotus&nbsp;hasn't yet been announced, HBO revealed filming started in February 2024. Previous strikes in Hollywood have delayed production, but Season 3 of&nbsp;The White Lotus&nbsp;is expected to release in 2025. Though we don't know the exact date,&nbsp;the teaser has sparked much anticipation. It promises another season filled with the dark humor and sharp social satire that fans have come to love.
