Reply 1997’s Seo In-guk Collaborates With Francine Diaz on a New Single
Here’s what went down at the exclusive listening party for the duo’s upcoming single, “My Love”.
Beloved fans of Francine Diaz and Seo In-guk are in for a treat as the Filipina actress and South Korean actor-singer pair up on an English duet of the song, “My Love.” Last January 27, an exclusive listening party was held at KAO Manila to celebrate the pair’s upcoming single. The two were all smiles as they arrived at the press conference, with the Filipina actress enthusiastically greeting everyone in attendance as she celebrated her 20th birthday on the same day. Here’s a run through of what went down at the exclusive listening party slash press conference for the duo’s new song.
Hosted by Denise Laurel, the event was very intimate with Francine and In-guk enthusiastically sharing both their experiences throughout the process of completing the single. As it was also Francine’s birthday on that day, the press and other guests in attendance greeted the birthday girl with a hearty birthday cheer—prompting Francine to share how the celebration of this single was also her gift to herself.
On how the collaboration came about, Francine Diaz’s manager John Ling revealed that after he and In-guk met, the South Korean actor-singer gladly proposed for the two to collaborate on a song.
After a few sentiments were shared, the event continued with the pair finally unveiling a short teaser of their newest song “My Love”, where Francine’s refreshing vocals beautifully shined together with Seo In-guk’s.
The song was originally in Korean by Seo In-guk featuring a rap part by South Korean rapper and singer RAVI. For its English version, In-guk had it modified to become a duet piece for Francine. The Filipina actress shared to L’Officiel Philippines that singing the song was really an out-of-this-world experience and that she’s excited for her fans to hear the English version of the song. With numerous awards and outstanding acting projects under her belt, this upcoming single serves as a fresh and compelling addition to Francine's glittering career.
L’Officiel Philippines also asked Reply 1997 and Death’s Game star and singer Seo In-guk on why he chose the song “My Love” out of all the other songs in his discography. He shared that for this project, he wanted to do things differently. He thought that a romantic and fresh song like “My Love” would best fit Francine’s bubbly personality as compared to most of his songs that were melancholic.
It was also not the South Korean actor-singer’s first time in the Philippines as he just held his first-ever fanmeet for his Filipino fans last year. We asked In-guk what he had looked forward to having now that he’s back in the country and he shared to L’Officiel Philippines that he really looked forward to having the Filipino delicacy sapin-sapin as well as, of course, to finally share the upcoming single that he and Francine have worked hard on in South Korea.
The listening party came to a fruitful conclusion with another teaser from Francine Diaz and Seo In-guk revealing that a music video is already in the works for their upcoming single. More information about the release dates are yet to be announced.
