Discovering the finest Filipino interior designs and crafts at the 2025 Interior + Design Manila and Philippine International Furniture Show.

Filipinos have long been recognized for their creativity and resourcefulness, transforming readily available materials not only as valuable assets, but also works of art. This innate characteristic has propelled the Philippines to be regarded as the Milan of Asia due to its world-class furniture craftsmanship and interior designs.
A key factor behind this is the rich heritage and diverse cultures of the country, shaped by its many islands &mdash; making it the main inspiration of the Philippine Institute of Interior Designers (PIID) for this year&rsquo;s Interior + Design Manila (IDM) in their collaboration with the Philippine International Furniture Show (PIFS) that happened from March 6 to March 8 at the SMX Convention Center Manila.&nbsp;

The PIFS embraced the theme Philippines: An Archipelago of Design, which is about the blend of storied tradition and fresh innovation of Filipino designs from the different regions of the country. Meanwhile, IDM&rsquo;s concept Neue Wave centers on a forward-thinking approach to interior design, highlighting the integration of culture and technology.&nbsp;

The exhibitions highlighted a wide array of exclusive furniture, custom home d&eacute;cor and modern interior fixtures from local stores and businesses, particularly from Cebu, Pampanga and Manila. They displayed an extensive selection of services and products, varying from delicate handcrafted pieces and personalized designs to cutting-edge appliances and sustainable innovations &mdash; all while seamlessly incorporating indigenous materials and traditional techniques with next-generation developments.

Attendees have also engaged in interactive activities in the booths, witnessed live demonstrations and participated in events the organizations have orchestrated. Among these is PIID&rsquo;s 10th Continuing Professional Development Symposium themed Designing the Archipelago.
This symposium was about the exploration of how Filipino culture, traditions, and natural resources shape the design perspective of the country, emphasizing the importance of regional diversity on national identity and community development.&nbsp;

Altogether, this event featured the artistry and craftsmanship of native artisans and contemporary designers, underscoring the country as a global hub for design. Erwin Tan, chairman of the Philippine International Furniture Show, said that this year&rsquo;s focus was to &ldquo;showcase the ingenuity of the Filipino craftsmen, giving emphasis on sustainability and innovation.&rdquo;
