Demi Lovato, born Demetria Devonne Lovato, is entering a new musical era that also heralds a new life. Born in 1992, the multifaceted star chooses to be addressed by the pronoun "they." Back in the spotlight with the single, "Skin on My Teeth,” Lovato shares, “It represents me so much. It's the best I've ever done so far. ” They add, revealing their excitement about the new project, "Even though I wrote it in an incredibly dark time, I am so grateful that I am no longer in that cold and lonely place…No matter what happens in life, the happy ending will be never having to fall into bad habits again.”
Growing up in Colleyville, Texas, Lovato spent most of their time playing the piano and guitar while singing and dancing. Their musical adventure reaches another turning point in a long career spanning seven albums, four of which have reached over a billion streams on Spotify.

What did Demi Lovato dream of as a child? Did the dream include music?
My childhood passions were closely tied to music. I always wrote lyrics, sang, and played the guitar and piano. I always had a feeling that who I am today was going to be the way my life would turn out.
What is the moment in your career that you are most proud of?
Any. I think there was a time when "Give Your Heart a Break" was number one on the radio, and I was about to get my hands on concrete at the Chinese Grauman's Theater with Britney Spears, Simon Cowell, and L.A Reid. I couldn't believe it. That was really iconic and powerful. That was probably the moment I'm most proud of. But singing the national anthem at the Super Bowl was also really cool.

What does music mean for Demi Lovato?
Their healing action, their love, their anger, are all the emotions they release and help anyone who listens to them if they connect and resonate with it.
What inspired the new album?
My new album is definitely rock; it's a really big departure from everything I've been doing in a while. I'm really excited to release this project because for me, it's more authentic and closer to the musical history I started with my journey. I feel at home with my music for the first time in a long time.
What is the best part about creating the project?
Just walking into the studio with people who inspire you every day and hanging out with things that leave you even more inspired. I didn't know it was possible.
What is the relationship between fashion and the first memory linked to it?
I wear clothes that fit my body and put me at ease. I am not fond of trends. I really try to stay as consistent with myself as possible. My first fashion memory? I got a pair of Target glitter shoes and they were amazing, my favorite. They reminded me somehow of Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz, and I wore them every day. It was the first time I started a relationship with an item of clothing.
What is beauty and how has it evolved over the years?
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so it looks different for everyone, and it's something I had to learn. Not everyone will think that you are beautiful and that's okay: I work to find myself beautiful. Do you know why we are not beautiful sometimes? It is the kind of relationship you have to work on, especially with yourself, and when you open your eyes to the world you can find beauty there.
