The Icelandic singer reveals her new film &#39;Cornucopia&#39; about climate change and how she uses technology to create music.

&ldquo;Cornucopia is a response to the environmental problems we&rsquo;re in, to patriarchy. It&rsquo;s a response to a lot of problems. And the response is: Let&rsquo;s not stop there. We have abundance. We have solutions. We can start over,&rdquo; singer Bj&ouml;rk tells Zane Lowe at Apple Music Live , where she performed hits like &ldquo;Isobel,&rdquo; &ldquo; Hidden Place,&rdquo; &ldquo;Utopia,&rdquo; and &ldquo;Fossora&rdquo; in a digitized show that blends 21st-century virtual reality imagery with 19th-century theater.
Her latest project, "Cornucopia", is a film that focuses on climate change and the development of music-writing technology, made with the famous biologist Sir David Attenborough: "It's more about protecting biodiversity and taking action, rather than the Gen X approach of, in a punk style, shouting at the people who own factories, hoping that by shouting louder they would stop them. That doesn't work anymore. Now it's about bringing solutions, trying to help. And we are all overwhelmed by guilt for what we have done to the planet: 7 billion people paralyzed by guilt." Bj&ouml;rk believes that change can only be achieved by establishing new laws that can change the system from within.

In the interview, Bj&ouml;rk talks about her writing process: &ldquo;I always write one song a month, in a natural rhythm, like the rhythm of the full moon, and I&rsquo;ve been doing that for so long [&hellip;] I get bored easily, so I never want to do the same thing twice. Sometimes I write all the songs first, like I did with Vulnicura, just composing songs with string arrangements, and then I move on to the next stage. With Utopia, it was the opposite: I started with the flute arrangements, worked on them for a year and rehearsed with flutists in my cabin every Friday.&rdquo; However, she adds that her process is a mix of what happens: &ldquo;Ultimately, I try not to be driven by technology. I want the craftsmanship to be at the service of the soul. The soul comes first, and the technique is there to help it express itself.&rdquo;
All that remains is to wait for the release of the film Cornucopia, a work that promises a unique visual and musical experience, capable of combining environmental commitment, technological innovation and the artist's sensitivity. The film will be presented in March 2025 in some French cinemas and will subsequently be available on the Apple TV platform.
