A lot of things bring Aveda and Iris Van Herpen together: a consideration for nature, an appreciation for artistry, trust in good science, and a dedication to craft.

If there ever was a fashion designer to bring together art, science, fashion, and nature, it&rsquo;ll be Iris Van Herpen. The Dutch fashion designer, celebrated for ethereal works of art that bring together elements that many find hard to harness altogether, is known to be one of the first to incorporate tech such as 3D printing into her designs, as well as create couture from plastic waste found in the ocean. A collaboration with Aveda comes as no surprise&mdash;after all, the vegan hair care brand is known for hair artistry and high-performance products that maximize the power of natural ingredients with science as well.&nbsp;
We know van Herpen to regularly adorn many runways, red carpet moments, and films with her couture designs, but the designer has also dressed models in hair shows led by Antoinette Beenders, Aveda&rsquo;s Senior Vice President of Global Professional Artistry. It only makes sense for their years of professional partnership to evolve into an actual collaboration that celebrates artistry and craftsmanship at heart. So for the holiday season, Iris Van Herpen launches her first beauty-forward collection with Aveda in three luxurious pieces: a hair cuff, hair pin set, and a cosmetic pouch.&nbsp;

&nbsp;&ldquo;This collection embodies the limitless beauty of nature,&rdquo; shares van Herpen. &ldquo;The visual inspiration of this collection was drawn from the relationships between living organisms and their physical environments in all its layers and nuances&mdash;a constant dialogue between nature and ourselves.&rdquo; True to this spirit, the cuff and pins are made from recyclable gold-tone brass, and the clutch is created from 65% post-consumer recycled materials.
Van Herpen has created a lot of hair and face accessories for runways and red carpets previously, but this collection was created for a more casual use. The designer, coincidentally, is also known to have had a background in dance&mdash;asked how this informs a hair-specific accessories line, she touches on how hair is an important tool of expression in the movement-based art form. From how it's styled sleek in more classical forms to how it's worn freely in more contemporary styles, hair is expression in itself. For the Aveda collection, van Herpen crafted the accessories to seamlessly assimilate into one&rsquo;s everyday life while adding a little bit of style. The hair cuff and pin set, for example, is a balance of form and function.&nbsp;

Asked if she would have expanded the line with more pieces, van Herpen shares that a special comb she also designed would have been included. We can only imagine how that would have turned out to be though as the final range entails a tight edit of three limited-edition pieces: The Lagoon Nebula Hair Cuff, &ldquo;inspired by an interstellar cloud where stars are born,&rdquo; the Henosis Hair Pin Set &ldquo;embodies the Greek concept of oneness and union,&rdquo; and the Syntopia Cosmetic Pouch, &ldquo;inspired by a state of being where different species live together.&rdquo;
The Aveda x Iris van Herpen limited-edition holiday collection is available this November 2023 in Aveda Megamall Pop-up, Aveda Greenbelt 5 Pop-up, Rustans Makati, LOOK SM Aura, LOOK SM Mall of Asia, Lazada, Zalora, and partner salons.&nbsp;
