Designer Hedi Slimane continues his enigmatic vision of adolescence and youthfulness through the launch of CELINE&rsquo;s new Haute Parfumerie called ZOUZOU. The unique fragrance is meant to encapsulate the carefree and lighthearted nature of youth icons of the '60s&ndash;characterized by their fresh faces, signature short haircuts, and mesmerizing smiling pouts. Girls like Fran&ccedil;oise Sagan and Jean Seberg are Slimane&rsquo;s muses for this scent and its campaign which truly embodies the idea of &ldquo;utopic youth&rdquo; that the designer continues to mold throughout his career.

Amber and Musk are the top notes and are enveloped with Benzoin and Tonka Bean. While Patchouli and Labdanum underline the ambery and elegant character of the accord. A distinct powdery note also runs through the perfume&mdash;a signature in all of CELINE&rsquo;s creations.

Then there&rsquo;s the name itself, ZOUZOU, a playful and child-like monicker. It&rsquo;s often used to describe a young woman with short hair with much affection, and this is visualized through Slimane&rsquo;s creative campaign reel that accompanies the launch of the scent.

Starring 22-year-old British-American actress and singer Esther Rose McGregor, daughter of famed actor Ewan McGregor, the young beauty is seen posing with a life-sized bottle of ZOUZOU for the campaign lensed by Slimane. While the visualizer video exudes a distinctly &lsquo;60s vibe with its &ldquo;Swinging Sixties&rdquo; soundtrack and use of retro film grain. The focus is purely on Esther and her nonchalant cool persona while posing mysteriously for Slimane&rsquo;s camera.
ZOUZOU is considered the new opus in CELINE&rsquo;s Haute Perfumerie Collection which was initiated back in 2019. The scent is the 12th creation of Slimane for his line of luxury fragrances for the Maison that continues to boast of the excellence of French perfumes.
